Entertainment Districts

Addison, In Addison you'll find world-class shopping, excellent restaurants and top-notch entertainment all within walking distance or a short drive of our 22 hotels. More than 160 restaurants are ready to serve you everything from blue stone crab sushi to Texas size steaks. After dinner, you can enjoy a show at one of the many jazz clubs, comedy venues, or take in a performance at the award winning Water Tower Theatre. Addison is known for special events, so check the website, www.addisontexas.net, for dates. If shopping is on your list, Addison won't disappoint you. With hundreds of unique stores and popular shopping close by, you are sure to find the perfect item.

Arlington Entertainment District, heart of Arlington's hospitality industry, featuring Six Flags Over Texas, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, Ameriquest Field in Arlington, and more than 20 hotels and 80 restaurants.

Cultural District - Fort Worth, Home to five world-class museums, Botanic Garden, top-ranked zoo, theaters, and equestrian complex. (817) 882-8588.

Grand Prairie, (972) 263-9588. Right in the middle of all the fun in D/FW lies Grand Prairie's entertainment district. Louis Tussaud's Palace of Wax & Ripley's Believe It or Not!, Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie featuring live Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing and live via simulcast racing year-round; GPX Skate Park & Entertainment Center, and Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie, a 6350-seat performance hall.

Greenville Avenue is a lively and bustling corridor that stretches from near Downtown into northeast Dallas. From Ross Avenue to Mockingbird Lane, Greenville Avenue's residential neighborhoods are broken up by quaint strip centers with one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, clubs and pubs. From Mockingbird Lane north, it is mainly commercial with a host of popular dining, shopping and entertainment outlets.

Historic Downtown Denton -- at Locust, Elm, Oak and Hickory Streets. Stately courthouse stands guard over downtown quadrant filled with unique gift shops, art galleries, antique stores, restaurants and museum in the courthouse. Live performances at the Campus Theatre, restaurants and nightclubs featuring live music. (940) 349-8529.

Historic Grapevine. Tarrant County's oldest settlement. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, downtown Grapevine offers over 70 beautifully restored buildings dating back to late 1800's which have been transformed into unique dining establishments, specialty shops, antique stores, and winery/ tasting rooms. Knox-Henderson is named for two streets that cross Central Expressway north of Downtown Dallas. The area features a myriad of unique furniture, antique, and gardening shops complimented by a variety of dining choices from Mediterranean to Tex-Mex.

Historic Downtown McKinney, established in 1848 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Lively square features unique village shopping with more than 100 antique and specialty shops, art galleries and boutiques. Casual and elegant dining with live entertainment on the weekends. McKinney Avenue District (Uptown); Historic electric trolleys connect the Downtown Dallas Arts District with the shops, restaurants, galleries and boutiques of the popular McKinney Avenue area. Stop along the way for dinner, shopping and nightlife, or stay aboard for non-stop fun.

Mesquite's The Rows of Texas, (214) 558-6697. Discover a new Texas tradition with an amazing variety of places to shop, eat, stay and enjoy family entertainment, all within a four-mile span of I-635 in Mesquite. Enjoy more than 100 places to dine in Restaurant Row, over 3 million sq. ft. of superb shopping in Town East Mall and the shops of Retail Row, and championship rodeo in Rodeo Row.

Mkt Railroad Depot and Rose Garden, Pecan St. in Lancaster. 100 year old Depot and nostalgic rose garden with antique Lancaster Roses from England. Available only in the daytime for weddings and parties. Easy access from I-20, I-35 and I-45, (972) 227-0177 or (972) 227-2579.

North Richland Hills Entertainment District, Grapevine Highway (State Highway 26) one mile north of Interstate Loop 820; toll-free (877) NRH 2 DAY. Home to NRH2O Family Water Park, Mountasia Family Fun Center, and HRH Walker's Creek Girls Fastpitch Softball Complex.

Old Downtown Carrollton, (972) 466-5654. Considered the "Heart of Carrollton," Old Downtown Carrollton at the southeast corner of I-35E and Belt Line Rd. boasts antique and gift shops, the Plaza Arts Center, and restaurants surrounding the historic town square and vintage-style gazebo.

Restaurant Row, in Bedford and Mid-Cities at D/FW Airport Freeway (Hwys. 121 & 183), Harwood and Central Drives. Over 80 fine restaurants in the heart of the Metroplex, offering American, regional and ethnic cuisine.

Stockyards National Historic District, (817) 624-4741; is located on Exchange Avenue east and west of North Main St. in Fort Worth. Includes Billy Bob's Texas - world's largest honky tonk; the "Fort Worth Herd," a herd of Texas longhorn cattle driven by authentically dressed cowboys twice daily down Exchange Ave.; Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame; the historic Stockyards Hotel - where Bonnie & Clyde stayed; historical walking tours of landmark buildings, restaurants, saloons, and shopping. Cowtown Coliseum, built in 1908, held the world's first indoor rodeo, and hosts various Western shows, events and rodeos throughout the year. Stockyards Station, with more than 30 unique shops and restaurants in renovated hog-and-sheep pens, is also the depot to the Grapevine Vintage Railroad's 1896 Steam Train.

Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth; (817) 255-5700. The 20-block downtown entertainment and shopping district offers residents and visitors a variety of entertainment options in an architecturally unique setting. Restored turn-of-the-century buildings, brick streets and sidewalks, and colorful landscaping provide a picturesque backdrop for the Bass Performance Hall, a 504-room luxury hotel, two residential complexes, 20 screens of AMC cinemas, restaurants, live theaters, museums, and numerous specialties shops night spots.

West End Historic District, Market St., Pacific Ave. and Woodall Rodgers Frwy. in Dallas, features over 80 excellent restaurants, surrey rides, specialty shops, and a variety of entertainment.

West End MarketPlace, (214) 748-4801. Over 40 specialty retail and casual apparel shops, fast-food eateries, miniature golf, game arcade and singing fudge makers. Set in a redeveloped cookie and candy factory dating back to the early 1900's. Mon-Thurs. 11 a.m. - 9 p.m., Fri.-Sat. 11 a.m. - 10 p.m., Sun. noon - 6 p.m.
