Historic
More than a hundred and sixty years old, Grapevine boasts a colorful
and proud heritage that began in 1844. Since then, the city has grown
a hundred-fold, but its friendly, can-do spirit is still evident.
Over 75 historic structures have been lovingly preserved. A fascinating
walking tour allows you to see Grapevine's past firsthand, including
its thriving Main Street District, which is listed
on the National Register of Historic Places.
At the Grapevine Historic Railroad District visit
the Visitor Information Center and find a number
of preserved historic buildings including the 1901 Cotton
Belt Depot which serves both as the Grapevine Visitor
Information Center, the Grapevine Historical Museum,
and the 1888 Section Forman's House. Throughout
the area you can see artisans demonstrate their skills at a variety
of crafts from woodcarving to bronze art.
